Well looking at the data we can see that the majority of people watch comic book movies.The second best data is that people do read comics and watch comicboook movies. This is an interesting set of data that defintily explains why DCs is struggling with there film department.
Another great question but the awsner to your question is very long so get tucked in. The reason this data explains everythingis because It shows how most people dont read comics. This is why marvel is able to get away with making and essentially rebooting there entire comic book universe to compliment the cinamatic universe they are building. If you look at the comic books marvel made before the fame of the cinamatic universe versus now it shows how Marvel is putting in the cniimatic universe over there comic books. Now opposed to DC who just enterd the cinamatic universe and no one enjoys it. I feel like its because no one at DC is doing character control for the films and not giving them the acurate reperenstation as they are in the current comic books. For example The batman currently in the DC rebirth is a calm colleted superhero whos is trying to make a normal life for himselm and the people in his life. But since the marjority of people dont read comic books they dont see that what they see is a Batman who is whiny,crazy,rude,dumb, and kills people and most peole dont like that at all. But besides the fact that DC is messing up there characters I would say the biggest problems is that DC doesent take anything from some there amazing comic book arcs while Marvel is making there own inspiration usnig the comic arcs they created originally as a base and building it up int there own thing. For example The first Avengers is based on the Firsrt meering of the avengers in the comics but it also adds the introduction of the infinity stones and whitty dialogue and even plants the sseds for civil war with Captain America and Iron Man.
Thats an easy fix all they have to do is take some of there greastest stories and use them as a base to build a cinimatic universe. Or better yet just adapt there stories because there is already enough content in one story like Identity Crisis then there is for the first isue of the avengers.Lastly they have to understand the charcters for example dont make Batman a crazy killer whos harsh and hardend because thats not reall who he is anymore and not really who he ever was. he was only like that in a handful of other worldly stories that people who have never read a comic before wouldnt like or understand.Take inspiration from marvel but dont copy its lightharted tone just do what they do wiht world building and character devlopment. But hey Maybe DC will never change if thats the case read on because i have a solution for you.
Even if Dc does get ther cinamatic universe in check or you cant wait for the next marvel film then just go rad the comics There doing amazing things with some of there titles and if a super hero you like isnt gettng a stand alone movie (Hawkenye for example) Then just go read his comic book. Not to mention there are a bunch of amazing stories for all your faviorite heroes.I know this seems like a big task but dont worry I have you covored.
